Speed Letter, the mobile game for a quick break, is getting an update. New levels introduce tougher challenges as you progress.
Meteors and shards add variety to each flight, while energy hearts and powers such as a shield, double shot and a time field help you keep going. Destroy obstacles and build hit streaks to earn extra points.
Speed Letter is a small extra for smartphone visitors. Touch-typing practice remains designed for a computer with a keyboard.
Beginner exercises: skip the guidance and get straight to practice
Already know an exercise and want to build confidence through repetition? The new “Without Guidance” option lets you get straight to typing.
Select it when you start a Beginner exercise to skip the introductions throughout that module. Spend less time going through familiar explanations and more time reinforcing your typing skills. The existing guidance is still there whenever you need it.

15. January 2026
Group Challenge with open or private group introduced
Since January 15, 2026, the Group Wide Arena has been available in the Speed Challenge. There you can create group challenges with several people and differentiate between sentence challenges and text challenges.
Open
Open group with easy joining and flexible participation for additional people.
Private
Private group that can only be joined via a suitable code or invitation link.
Sentences or texts
When creating the challenge, you decide whether to play with sentences or with texts.
In addition, the duration, maximum attempts, number of participants and, if desired, the participation of the creator are determined. You can join later directly via Join Challenge or via an invitation link.
This makes the Group Challenge particularly suitable for friends, learning groups and classes who play under the same rules and want to compare the results directly.
07. December 2025
Friends Challenge in Friend Wide Net expanded
Since December 7th, 2025, the Friends Challenge in Friend Wide Net has been available as its own 1-on-1 mode. You create a challenge directly, share the code or link and can specifically invite a known person to the duel.
1:1 Duel
Direct challenge between two people with the same conditions.
Code or link
You can join via Join Challenge or directly via the invitation link.
Best performance counts
Up to 3 attempts are played per person, and the best round is counted.
This makes Friend Wide Net particularly suitable for targeted comparisons among friends, small competitions and revenge duels without an open ranking list.
